Rapid Prototyping

Here at Liondell, we have suppliers in the UK and the Far East able to produce rapid prototypes.

Rapid prototyping is a key stage in the product development process, it involves quickly creating a physical product/part from its CAD data using various manufacturing techniques, typically 3D printing. This allows the product developers to test & optimise the different characteristics of the part, such as the shape, size and usability of the part, before full production.

Some clients require existing steel or plastic parts to be reverse-engineered. This involves inspection and modelling in 3D. To provide a verified sample prior to tooling, we produce SLA or 3D printed parts for fit and function checking.

In other cases, when part designs are originated by Liondell, we can supply rapid prototypes and or parts from prototype tooling.
